You're already working with a version prior to Mapping System MSv7 and ask yourself "why a new version and what did the creative folks at DiVisual® change?". Well, those of you familiar with older versions may know, that everything before MSv7 was based on a simple Photoshop TM basic architecture, called "actions". These "actions" are static commands performing a task. Actions can not interact with the user nor can they perform logic decisions based upon the file they are working with. In comparison MSv7 is using all kinds of programming and scripting languages supported by Adobe. This way, MSv7 can fulfill tasks based on user inputs and on the things you have already registered in your map-file.
But this are just things and techniques behind the curtain. For you as a user, the main thing you might notice is the new "DiVisual® Tool Window". In this window or palette we have nested a bunch of simple buttons, buttons that are giving you all the tools and much more right at hand.
Most of all, the biggest news is this: all entries (what you are registering in your map-file) are now logged and linked to an event. This way, you can start extensive monitoring on works of art since all you are registering is and will stay related to a certain event or date. And... you can now map treatments as well.
